Originally producing "Indian" blankets from the turn of the 20th century Pendleton Woolen Mills launched their range of men's sportswear in 1924, challenging tradition by using plaid fabrics to make shirts that would before then have been plain in colour.
During the 1950's surf explosion the square bottomed shirts with bias cut pocket and famous loop fixed top button became the must have fashion to be teamed with khaki's or trunks for cool evenings on the beach. Did you know that The Beach Boys were originally known as The Pendletons?
